The most basic indicator of a people-centered economy is worker health and safety. And yet today, one year since the World Health Organization designated COVID-19 a global pandemic, a significant number of America’s essential workers still feel unsafe on the job. If we are to recover from the pandemic and rebuild equitably, corporate leaders need to double down on workplace safety. It’s not only a business imperative, but a moral one.
